Workout

Training Training Training! Year round with my strength trainer Ernie, 3 days a week, im in Danko's All American Fitness Center working out to get stronger, heavier, and more agile for the upcoming season. I gained 7 lbs in muscle just during this past spring and summer. The top picture shows me on an upside-down Bosu ball in a tuck position( a racing position). This is a balance and core workout. The second picture shows me doing a hang snatch. Its using a 25 lb weight and snatching it from hip level to above my head in one quick movement. Its an explosive movment which will help me push myself out of the starting gate and move quickly in a race course. Then the last picture is showing me jumping over hurtles. Left, up, back, right, left up, back, right, over and over again. it may look easy but it sure does throw you off balance. This is to be able to whip my ski aroung easily to make a gate and carve turns. Everyting I do in the gym has some type of purpose, all to make me fast enough for 2014!

US National @ Big Sky, MT ~ Day 2 SL

I want my blizzard ski!!!!! Sorry, inside joke. Anyway this years Slalom race was one of a kind. Now that im bigger and much heavier then last year, thanks to Ernie, I can hit gates. This is something deffinatly new! I feel like im wrapped in bubble wrap as im sking too. There are more articles of protective gear on you then there are rules to the racing! You have chin guard, chest protecter, thigh guard, shin guard, shoulder guars, and in my case a little arm guard. Which is made out of Alison Jones's shin guard. Me and Mau came up with the briliant plan of taking apart the pads in her shin guard and duct taping it to my left arm so when I hooked gates it didnt hurt. And beleive me, they hurt. I also won silver in this race, right below allison. To bad it was the last one..... :(

Just like last year, Steamboat was an awsome camp. Everyday was nonstop fun. Old friends making new friends while those new friends are making other friends.... one big happy family is the best way to explain us all while were on the slopes together. Coaches and athletes alike. Steamboat is one of those camps where champions are born. Thats the truth! New kids come every year all hoping for the same thing. FUN! lol well, heres your place.
